One thing I'm really trying to do is go for normal reactions to all of this, so I'm SO glad to hear that. :) People will have very different reactions and views of their futures, not all powers will be equally easy to master, and some people will go longer before discovering their abilities at all, if they're the kinds that wouldn't easily reveal themselves.
