I definitely wanted to have some parents contrast with the ~awesomeness of Burt and Carole, and, well, Russell Fabray and the couple who signed off on major unnecessary surgery for a minor were likely bets. Heh. And then we have Mr. Chang as another recent dick, so that was handy!
