Fic: "Special" (Pre-Story Notes)

As I've been finishing up some work behind the scenes and in real life, I've also geared up to start a new project that is looking to be quite long. Specifically: for a long time I've wanted to do a crossover with the Marvel Universe that gave me an excuse to write everyone with superpowers.

The prologue will follow this post. (I thought about adding it to the top there, but I like to keep story posts fairly clean.) ( A few notes about Special. )

Fic: "Special" (Prologue)

Title: Special
Character(s): Ensemble. Seriously. It covers pretty much everyone, plus some Marvel Universe characters.
Rating: R across everything, to be safe.
Word Count: 6100
Spoilers: Through S2
Full-Series Warnings: Violence, potential character death, and other elements common to comics
Summary: Being a part of something special makes you special. (Also, having superpowers.)
Notes: I wrote up a longer pre-story notes post for this particular story, as it looks to be a long one. But in short: if you have even a basic level of Marvel knowledge, you should be good. Once past this prologue, everything is set immediately after the end of S2. I'm having fun with rolling around in some character and fandom tropes, so expect to see some popular non-canon behaviors brought up. Don't assume any couple, canon or fanon, is endgame; it's hardly a focus anyway. And I will try to post a new chapter every Thursday to here and to Tumblr.

Finally, this prologue is all dramatic. The tone makes a notable change in chapters to come, for reasons that should be obvious.
